DCS World 2.5 Update

Perhaps our biggest focus is on the huge DCS World 2.5 Update that will unify DCS World 1.5 and 2.0. Not only will the DCS World 2.5 be one version to rule them all, it will also include a vastly improved Caucasus map. Features of the new map will include improved and higher resolution textures and elevation mesh, improved trees, higher density of ground objects, improved lighting and shadowing, terrain projected shadows, procedural grass, and other improvements. Best of all, this will be our free gift to you.

DCS World 2.5 is still on track to be available in 2016.

We have included a few comparison images that illustrate the vast improvements that DCS World 2.5 will bring.

Preview Look at New and Improved Maps Coming to DCS World

Although we started DCS World with a focus on aircraft modules, we are now adding new maps to the mix. We feel that maps are just as important as the aircraft, and they need to display the same high level of quality and span different time periods to match our aircraft. We are currently working on three maps: Caucasus map for DCS World 2.5, DCS: NEVADA Test and Training Range (NTTR) map for its final release state, and the Normandy 1944 map to support our DCS World War II series. As these projects wrap up, we will continue work on the Strait of Hormuz and other maps. We will also continue to improve our maps with new technologies that will further improve their features, looks, and performance.

We expect to release the updated Caucuses map for DCS World 2.5, the final version of the NTTR map, and the Normandy map this year.

Last week we had a look at improvements for the Caucasus map for DCS World 2.5. This week we would like to share some work-in-progress images of updates to the Nevada map and some new images of the Normandy map.

Operation Piercing Fury (OPF) is a story driven campaign consisting of you leading a forwarded deployed A-10C Warthog “Hawg” Flight in the Georgian Area of Operations (AO). More DCS: NEVADA Test and Training Range Map Update Images

This weekend we have a final set of images from the big update coming for the Nevada map. This final set of images give you a look at Beatty Airport, Mina Airstrip, Echo Bay Airstrip, and the Tonopah Test and Training Range (TTR) Airfield.

Work continues on this big update with emphasis on new airfield AI pathing, runway adjustments, completing the TTR airfield buildings, and some other items to resolve before release later this year.

Nevada Mood

The Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR) has the largest contiguous air and ground space available for peacetime military operations in the free world. The NTTR land area includes simulated air defense systems, mock airbases, and several target ranges. The NTTR was also used for nuclear testing. Today, it is home to RED FLAG and other military exercises that include countries from around the world. The NTTR map for DCS World 2 includes Nellis AFB, Creech AFB and the infamous Groom Lake AFB (aka Area 51). This map also includes the city of Las Vegas, McCarran International Airport, and Hoover Dam.

Per esempio presi il Mig-21 a gennaio 2015 per 17$ circa e ora lo trovo scontato a 30$...

In teoria più si va avanti e più i moduli considerati "vecchi" dovrebbero costare di meno, o sbaglio?

Volevo prendere il Mirage, ma 36$ scontato mi sembrano un po' eccessivi...

DCS World Weekend Update - 30 September 2016

A-10C: Advanced Aircraft Training (TTQ) Qualification Campaign

The A-10C Advanced Aircraft Training Qualification campaign puts you in the cockpit of an A-10C Warthog, and tests your ability to use the aircraft's weapon systems successfully. Based on real world qualification requirements, you will fly 10 performance check rides to execute against pre-defined performance objectives. If successful, you will rate a Qualified rating and proceed to the next performance objective.

The campaign covers a number of key areas including Air to Air Refueling Day and Night, Countermeasures and Threat Avoidance, Target Area Ingress Preparation, Illumination Flare Employment, Air to Air Gun and Missile Employment, Air to Ground Gun & Rocket Employment, Unguided and Guided Bomb Employment, and Missile Employment.

There are over 1,200 voiceovers and over 206 pages of briefing material including the A-10C Amplified Checklist, Maps, Target Diagrams, and Mission Data cards.
Additionally, 10 Practice Missions are included so you can perfect your Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) prior to taking the qualification check rides.

DCS: F-5E Tiger II Skin Contest

One of the great things we love about the Tiger II is the numerous and beautiful ways in which the aircraft has been painted over the years. Not just the various country operators, but the many creative ways in which it has been painted as an aggressor aircraft.

Based on this and our highly-talented community of skin artist, we are offering a new contest: paint the Tiger II!

Here are some of the requirements and details:
The skin must be created using this template.
The skin can be historically accurate or fictional. However, the skin must be associated with one of the countries currently present in DCS World.

Here are instructions for saving textures with MIP levels using NVIDIA Texture Tools for Adobe Photoshop.

Please upload completed skins to dedicated topic in the forum.
The best skins will be integrated into the DCS: F-5E Tiger II module in the game along with your credits.
All winners will get valuable gifts: one key for any module in DCS World of your choice.

DCS: World War II Update

Our DCS: World War II set of products progress with the Spitfire making great progress and the Normandy map nearing completion. An important aspect of creating the Normandy map is also creating a set of period-appropriate units to populate the map. This includes both Allied and Axis units that span both military and civilian unit types.
