16 August 2013 - DCS News Update

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The past week, most of the team has been occupied with:

1- FC3 bugs
2- Supporting UH-1H and Mi-8MTV2
3- Various system changes that span multiple modules
4- Rendering engine
5- Steam and Gamefly launch

A new update was released today (1.2.5.16508.227), but the only change is that it provides compatibility with the release of DCS World and modules on Gamefly.

In the near future we will be building the first 1.2.6 branch. For those that care to take part, this will be available as open beta in the near future. Later, 1.2.6 will feature the Mi-8MTV2 beta.

Micidiale!!

:woohoo:

23 August 2013 - DCS News Update

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Due to the summer holidays and Gamescon, not much new news to pass along this week. The team is mostly focused on getting the 1.2.6 open beta ready (it is basically in alpha testing now internally). For those that wish to participate in the open beta, we hope these open betas will benefit checking bug fixes in 1.2.6 like more stable network play in particular. The team has also been busy supporting BST with the upcoming beta release DCS: Mi-8MTV2, working on the new flight dynamics for the Su-27S and F-15C, and continued work on engine code.

Server Maintenance

Over the next two to three days we need to conduct server maintenance. This will likely result in temporary outages with our file servers, master multiplayer server, and possibly our site/forums.

Thanks

30 August 2013 - DCS News Update

This will be the last of the weekly updates. Future news will be through our monthly news letter that will be cross-posted here.

The items from last week's update are by and large still the same. However, below is a PRELIMINARY change log for 1.2.6. As a preliminary change log, this is very much subject change - meaning that items may be added or removed prior to its release.

DCS 1.2.6 Preliminary Change Log

In addition to the items listed below, there are other items we are working on for 1.2.6 that are not quite ready yet. One example is changes to the radar and EOS code. These had been merged for quite some time and has been limiting what we could do with these two sensors. We are now in the process of separating them into different code entities that will allow better modeling and help with future modules. This is also why this has taken longer than some might expect.
