ATRM (Advanced Training Mission)

As part of a general US and Coalition offensive, a USMC task force (Taskforce Ka-Bar) is moving south to take control of a key crossroads on Highway 45, in a move to block Syrian Arab Army (SAA) units, located near the village of Al Mushrefa.

The SAA has learned of the Marine’s movements and are rapidly deploying forces to the Al Huwaysis Valley, a 15 Km long, 3 to 4 km wide, desert valley, ideal for ATGM ambushes.

TF KaBar Operations Order: A single dirt road runs down the valley until it reaches Highway 45 at Al Huwaysis village. This junction is TF Ka-Bar’s objective. TF Ka-Bar will move down the road to a point about halfway down the valley where it will assume combat formations for the assault. A tank platoon will lead the attack. A fast LAV platoon will pass through the tanks and move into Al Huwaysis village. An artillery platoon deploy to take the crossroads under fire; continuing a barrage until the Tank and LAV platoons begins their push into the village.

Foggy weather off shore has prevented the USMC AV-8B Harriers from launching to providing on call CAS for this operation.
